The monstera, also known as the Swiss cheese plant, is native to Central America. These plants can reach up to 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide, so be prepared to accommodate this fast growing plant. They like lots of bright indirect light and to be in temperatures of 65-75 degrees. Because monsteras like to be watered when the first few inches of soil are dry, they'll need a evenly moist but well draining potting mix. A mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark will do the trick. There are many different types of monsteras ranging from the extremely rare variegated plants, to the more common deliciosa, adansonii, and more. Monsteras are also a climbing plant, so make sure your plant is properly supported as it grows!
