Chunky Perlite is a large and super lightweight, naturally occurring volcanic glass. When heated to the appropriate temperature during processing, it expands like popcorn. As a soil amendment perlite keeps mixes lighter and allows water to flow through. Popular with many leafy plants and orchids especially.
