The Elephant Bush, scientifically known as Portulacaria afra, is a succulent shrub native to South Africa, also known as Spekboom or Dwarf Jade, and is a popular houseplant and garden plant known for its thick, woody stems and small, succulent leaves.

Native to the desert-like subtropics of South Africa. In its natural habitat, it can grow up to 20 feet tall and 6 feet wide. It is also known as "spekboom" in Afrikaans.
