The "frosty fern" is a type of spike moss (Selaginella kraussiana) with a description that includes its unique foliage, which features bright green leaves that are tipped in white, giving the plant a frosted appearance. This low-growing plant, which resembles a fern but is not one, can reach up to 12 inches in height. It is often popular around the holidays for its wintry look but is a tropical plant that requires high humidity and cannot tolerate frost.
