String of Dolphins

· New arrival

"String of Dolphins," scientifically known as Senecio peregrinus, is a succulent plant with cascading stems of plump, dolphin-shaped leaves, making it a popular choice for hanging baskets or trailing over containers.

Dolphin-shaped leaves: The plant's defining feature is its fleshy, elongated leaves that resemble dolphins jumping out of the water. Cascading growth: It has a vining growth habit, making it ideal for hanging baskets or spilling over the edges of containers.

Bluish-green color: The leaves are a bluish-green color with a subtle glossy texture. Hybrid origin: It's a hybrid of Senecio rowleyanus (String of Pearls) and Senecio articulatus (Candle Plant).

Small white flowers: Like other senecios, it produces small white flowers intermittently.

Care:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light, but can tolerate partial sun.
  • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cacti mix.
  • Fertilizing: Feed lightly during the growing season (spring and summer), once a month. Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures year-round, avoiding freezing temperatures.
  • Humidity: Tolerates low humidity, but can benefit from occasional misting.
